Come along to one of our Home Educator workshops, experiencing hands-on activities covering topics including History, Science and Art!
- 13th March: Science focus – Find out how coal was formed, make a fossil and discover the machinery that was used to get coal from underground to the surface. Get involved with the science behind mining by having a go at experiments.
- 15th May: Arts focus – Unleash your creative side and be inspired by the safety posters in the Museum’s collection. Use relief painting techniques to create a poster that highlights the dangers of mining.
- 17th July: Arts focus – Enjoy an exclusive visit to our special art exhibition and be inspired to create a piece of art that reflects the Museum and the contents of the exhibition.
Each workshop has capacity for 20 children (ideal for ages 6-11 years) and accompanying adults. Due to the popularity of previous events, ensure that you book your place by calling 01924 848806.
