Chocolate has been traditionally linked with love for decades, the first recorded link between chocolate and romance dates all the way back to the Aztecs. Emperor Montezuma was rumoured to eat cocoa beans to fuel his romances as it was considered to be an aphrodisiac food.
The Rowntree’s factory in York has brought relationships together since 1862, with people finding love over chocolate. York’s Chocolate Story intends to carry on the traditions between love and chocolate by hosting their first ever late night Valentine’s Tours this February.
Perfect for those looking for a treat that’s a bit different and want to treat their loved one(s) to a night they’ll remember.
Arrive to a glass of prosecco and chocolate dipped strawberries before being taken on the chocolate journey. You will get creative as you decorate your own heart shaped lolly and then perfect your design when crafting six hand-made chocolates.
Stuart Wood, General Manager, York’s Chocolate Story , “ We love to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the attraction as chocolate and romance have always had a link , this year for the first time we are excited to be hosting two Valentine’s tours that provide something very individual for couples to enjoy on Valentine’s night.”
