Enter into the ghostly spirit of Halloween this year by attending Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s hauntingly good Creepy Carnival. It’s their biggest (and spookiest) event to date with countless carnival attractions such as a Coconut shy, hoop la stalls and walking (dead) entertainers! This fiesta of fearsome fun will be held from the 27th – 29th October. With more terrific thrills for the whole family is Lightwater Valley’s eerie ‘Frightwater Valley’ event, from 27th – 31st October. Alongside their immensely popular selection of rides, you’ll get your daily dose of chills from Spooky Character Meet and Greets, Trick or Treat Doors and a Scare Maze Walkthrough.

Ramp up the shock-meter this October with a trip to Emmerdale Studio’s Fright, Camera, Action experience on 31st October. Your pulse is sure to be racing as you ceaselessly search for a missing tour group through abandoned sets and pitch black corridors. No need to worry if jumpy frights don’t stir delight, join William’s Den instead for Halloween at William’s Den! Have a nosy around their pumpkin patch or explore their Forbidden Fields filled with frightful fairy-tale villains (and a couple of brave heroes too!)

All this bizarre Halloween business is sure to work up an appetite! So why not dig your fangs into a Halloween Afternoon Tea at Lottie’s Lounge? This spooky special is available from 1st October to 3rd November, so you’ve got plenty of time to satisfy those creepy cravings! The Tropical Butterfly House are also hosting a tropically terrifying Halloween Spooktacular this month. Check out their haunted house, ghoulish tractor rides, pumpkin carving and of course their amazing animal and bird displays.

If like Vampires, you come alive after dark, you’ll love Flamingo Land’s Stalk in the Park taking place 14th October – 7th November. No matter what your age is, you’re sure to get a thrill out of this night walk through the park… after all, who knows who could be following you! For more dark drama for the family, take a visit to the Bronte Parsonage for Late Night Thursday on 25th October. Explore the atmospheric rooms, alive (or dead) with the thuds and creaks made by the historic house after dark. Then immerse yourself in Sita Brand’s spooky stories from around the world.

Continue the scary story telling on your historic tour of the National Coal Mining Museum for England’s coal mine and pit buildings. This Family Halloween Experience takes place on the 30th & 31st October; it’s going to be a petrifyingly perfect combination of eerie and educative amazement. Expand your Halloween knowledge further with a trip to The Deep’s Venom Vs Poisons event from 20th October – 4th November. Take part in their fun-packed interactive show and delve into the world of some dangerous creatures to find out all about their toxic talents!
