We invited blogger, Sian @helpfulmum to visit Stockeld Park with her family for a joyful introduction to the Christmas experience.
We love Sian’s combination of vlogging and written stories and how she juggles being mum to two kids, running a b&b and having time to occasionally explore the beautiful Yorkshire dales where she’s based.
Sian is our second blogger to see the secrets of Stockeld and be enchanted by the park!
My children are five and seven, which it seems is the perfect age to try everything! They ice-skated, skied cross country, walked through an enchanted forest, found their way out of an illuminated maze and even met the man himself, Father Christmas.
This was the first time my son didn’t need to hold hands with someone on the ice and I was so proud of him. My daughter also sped around the rink with the help of a penguin buddy (these come at no extra cost).
We walked through the Enchanted Forest at a leisurely pace, checking out each of the mysterious characters and also trying each separate playground (their favourite was the one with a zip wire and a giant spider slide). Then we skied back through at dusk, when the illuminations make everything look extra special.
We spent six hours at Stockeld, and would have stayed longer if it wasn’t a school night! The shop at the end was wonderfully festive, with an incredible range and very reasonably priced.
