Inspire your children’s creepy creativity this Halloween with a trip to the Bronte Parsonage for their Wild Wednesday, Monstrous Mask making workshop. Let them transform themselves into the frightening faces behind some of the Bronte sisters’ most wicked writing. Or maybe they’d like to take their creativity into another galaxy with Magna’s Alien Slime Masterclass from 29th October – 2nd November. Learn the secret slime recipe from Magna’s head scientist for a fab-goo-lous day out!

Ever tempted to send the kids back to school during the holidays? Cannon Hall Farm are taking bookings for their Pumpkin Festival and Wizardry School from 20th – 31st October. They’ll have to complete challenges to graduate with flying colours from the witches and wizards school. If that doesn’t lift their spirits this Halloween, how about enrolling them in Eureka’s ghastly Ghoul School from 20th October – 4th November. They will be taught the essential lessons of potion mixing, spell casting and werewolf survival skills!

Scared to go out after dark this Halloween? Don’t fret as Thornton Hall Country Park are hosting a Halloween by Day and Pumpkin Picking event from 13th – 31st October. Carve out some fun this month with a trip to their Pumpkin Patch or get your head in a spin as you navigate through their scary maze. Pull on your ghostliest garments and hop on your broomstick because William’s Den are hosting a Halloween to remember. Brave the Forbidden Fields, scattered with some of the most infamous fairy-tale villains, for a chance to bag a sweet treat. Don’t worry though, there will be brave heroes there to help out!

All aboard the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s Halloween Train! Hop on for a jittering journey of spooky story-telling, creepy colouring and fab-BOO-lous face painting. This terrifically terrible train expedition will be taking place on 28th October, be there or be beware! If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then head over to York’s Shockolate Story for their Trick or Treat Walking Tour to tickle your taste buds instead. Follow Ghoulish Count Fectionary and his ghastly sidekick Miss Terry through the historical streets of York; get your fangs stuck into some terrifying tales and sweet treats along the way.

Don’t want the kids becoming lazy-bones this half term? Royal Armouries are calling all little ghost-busters to action for their Museum Ghost Hunt, in order to help save the city from being sucked into a cosmic worm-whole. Join the Royal Armouries on 26th October to help clear up this frenzy of paranormal activity and become the hero of Halloween! If you’re not ready to take the fate of Yorkshire in your hands, you could always take the kids to Xscape Yorkshire for some freaky fun and games. Join the hauntingly fun Halloween Parties on the 25th & 26th October, or for those terrible tots there’s a Halloween themed October Parent and Toddler Event!
