Wreath Making at Bronte Parsonage

Head to Bronte Parsonage Museum between Thursday 12th and Sunday 15th December to make a Festive Wreath for your front door inspired by the traditional Christmas decorations at the Brontë Parsonage Museum. All materials will be provided, and the workshop includes mince pies and mulled wine to get you in the festive mood!

Get ready for an action-packed, festive family day out this December at Cannon Hall Farm. Book now to enjoy a delcious breakfast or lunch with Santa during a Santa Special, make your way through the elf  check in for a visit to See Santa, or can you help save Christmas and help the forgetful elves make a teddy bear to take home and keep in time for Christmas at their Elves Workshop event.

Santa Experience

Looking to experience the Christmas spirit? Join City Cruises York for a magical cruise along the Ouse. Their Santa Experience, which runs until Tuesday 17th December, invites well behaved boys and girls for a magical day out. You’ll be greeted by Ernie the Elf and Mary Christmas before setting sail and being joined by Santa Claus himself!

Meet the friendliest elves around and Father Christmas himself during Winter Season at Eureka! The National Children Museum, on select dates this December. Watch the festive show ‘Snow Day’ and see Jack Frost help a child see the magic of snow for the very first time!

Join Harewood House until Thursday 5th January to see their latest exhibition, Christmas at Harewood – A Night at the Mansion. Created by acclaimed British artistic duo, Davy and Kristin McGuire, watch as the house, its stories and stately rooms are transformed by striking lights and projections.

This December, see Lightwater Valley Theme Park illuminated by hundreds of magical lantern displays for their immersive Alice in Winterland event. The Yorkshire attraction will become home to many of Lewis Carroll’s iconic childhood characters, including Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Humpty Dumpty and more!

Santa Underground

Will the bell place you on the naughty or nice list? Head to National Coal Mining Museum during select dates in December and travel 140 metres to join Santa Underground in his unique and atmospheric underground grotto. Good children will receive a present and certificate, while bad children will get coal!

Visit The Deep, each weekend throughout December and the festive period as they explore the seas of the past, present and future in a fun-packed interactive show during their Christmas Coral special. Get crafty too and make your own 2020 calendar – a perfect gift for family and friends.

Enjoy a wonderful winter’s day out in Yorkshire this November at Tropical Butterfly House! Head to the Sheffield family attraction until Tuesday 24th December to experience a magical Christmas Trail through the wildlife park. Gather up your Christmas wishes in a letter to Santa before meeting the man himself and his Elves at their woodland cabin.

Bringing Christmas to the tropics is a tough job, so Santa has sent Mango the Meerkat on a special mission to help spread the magic of Christmas at Tropical World. Bring your little helpers to join Mango and enjoy lots of festive fun for all the family. Christmas jumpers or festive attire are actively encouraged.

Create festive family memories at The Christmas Den this December. Head to William’s Den to be greeted by the cheeky elves and learn how to become an honorary elf. Listen to Christmas stories and take part in magical family activities before meeting Father Christmas.

Experience the weird and wonderful at Xscape Yorkshire this December with magical live performances for the whole family during their Christmas of Curiosity event. Santa's Sweet Adventure

This winter, until Tuesday 24th December, York’s Chocolate Story will undergo a festive make-over for their Santa’s Sweet Adventure event. Meet Santa on special themed tours by completing a mission to help him save Christmas! Make your own Christmas-themed lollies and learn how chocolate was involved in Christmases past. Personalise your own KitKat in their Chocolatory… which flavours will you choose?

Venture to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the UK’s number one walkthrough wildlife adventure, home to more than 400 animals. For two weekends in December you and your family and friends can enjoy a truly magical experience with their annual Christmas Fair and exciting entertainment including a festive pantomime featuring Victor the Polar Bear.

Looking to further your history knowledge? Enjoy an incredible heritage day out at JORVIK Viking Centre.
