July brings the start of the school summer holidays and we’ve got you covered for the very best days out to keep your little ones entertained. Catboy and Luna Girl from PJ Masks will be flying into Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire during Story Time sessions, led by a narrator on Saturday 20th July! The Story Time will take place at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm at their Riverside One area, at no additional charge! If superhero’s aren’t your thing, why not join them for their 90s weekender as The Vengaboys perform on Friday 26th July and BoyzLife on Saturday 27th July during their Party in the Park special. Don’t miss out on a turtle-y awesome summer at The Deep. Get hands on in The Deep’s very own ‘Turtle Hospital where youngsters can get up close with a giant turtle (a cuddly one, of course) and find out what it takes to look after their flipper-ed friends.

Enjoy a packed programme of activities throughout the school summer holidays at Eureka! The National Children’s Museum from Saturday 20th July to Monday 2nd September. Their Big Summer Festival includes explosive science shows, outdoor activities, special guest performers, tech tinkering and lots more. Don’t miss the NEW exhibition Digital Dimensions – a mix of innovative tech games, vibrant visual effects and stunning sounds. Experience the greatest Summer Day Out with Lightwater Valley Theme Park, ride The Ultimate roller coaster and enjoy wet ‘n’ wild fun on the Wild River Rapids. There is something for little ones too including the Lightwater Express train ride and Jester’s Jungle Fun indoor play area. Experience live music for the first time at Lightwater Valley as a Robbie Williams Tribute heads to the theme park on Saturday 27th July as part of their Summer Saturday Sessions.

Tennis fan? Why not watch Wimbledon in style at the National Coal Mining Museum for England, from Monday 1st July to Sunday 14th July? Enjoy high tea or try their cream tea offer whilst watching all the action on their café television screens. Plus, grab your bucket and spade and join National Coal Mining Museum from Saturday 20th July as you travel back in time to see how miners spent their summer holidays at Seaside @ Pit. You’re invited to a Pop Star Party with LMX (Little Mix Tribute) on Saturday 13th July at Cannon Hall Farm. There’ll be selfie stations, mocktails, hair stylists and lots of musical entertainment to get the toes tapping. Then, join them from Saturday 20th July – Sunday 21st July for a Superhero Party – complete with appearances from your favourite heroes. Fancy dress is encouraged!

Patrick Bronte

Looking to further your history knowledge? Head to Brontë Parsonage Museum this July to explore their exhibition exploring the life of Patrick Brontë, and how illness, poor health and death plagued his life. Each Wednesday throughout the Summer School Holidays join them for free drop-in craft workshops. Activities run 11am-4pm and are free with admission to the Museum. Wednesday 24th July will focus on sun prints, whilst Wednesday 31st July will concentrate on Hapa Zome, the art of beating up leaves with hammers! Or, step back in time with the Royal Armouries Museum this July as they continue their Monarchs Weekends. Join them on Saturday 20th July and Sunday 21st July to discover the life and times of George III, the ‘Mad’ King. Through authentic combat demonstrations, talks, tours and object handling learn about the fascinating impact this remarkable ruler had on history.
