Where to catch the match (or not) this weekend with Yorkshire Attractions!

Want to entertain the kids this weekend but don’t want to miss the match? You’re in luck! Many of our attractions are on hand to ensure you have a great day out this Saturday without missing the England v Sweden match.

Why not pop over to Yorkshire Wildlife Park where visitors can watch the Three Lions take on Sweden LIVE on the Amphitheatre big screen. With a bar and BBQ available for those half-time treats, it’s the perfect place to watch the footy with the family.

Get your heart racing and the adrenaline pumping at Flamingo Land Resort where in between rides you can catch the game on the big screen at Riverside One outdoor area. With outdoor seating to soak up the sun and food and drink, it’s set to be a great day win or lose. Lightwater Valley will also be streaming the game in the market square if you want to catch a cheeky glimpse.

If you’re self-sufficient and only looking for a nice atmosphere to watch the game, why not find a nice spot on the ground of some of our stunning attractions? Take your spot in the stunning grounds of Harewood House or The Hepworth Wakefield and watch on your personal tablet / mobile whilst the kids play.

Once the game is over, take a trip over to Cannon Hall Farm for their Gin Festival and celebrate (or drown your sorrows) in style. You can also quote ‘World Cup’ at get ALL DAY farm admission for £3 on July 7.

Not a footie fan? Why not avoid the football crowds with a relaxing dining cruise along the River Oust with City Cruises York on a boat beautifully decorated for York’s Bloom Festival. Pop along to one of our heritage sites like the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Royal Armouries Leeds, National Coal Mining Museum and York’s Chocolate Story. Or jump on board a Keighley & Worth Valley Railway train and take in the Haworth countryside.

Bigger fan of the Dingles than Cane? Then head to The Emmerdale Studio Experience and step into the drama. Or if you’re after an animal fix then the delights of Tropical World Leeds, Thornton Hall Country Park, Tropical Butterfly House and The Deep can satisfy that itch!

Other great attractions to check out over the weekend in the promising weather are Diggerland Yorkshire, Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, JORVIK Viking Centre, Magna Science Adventure and Xscape Yorkshire.
